| 1. This project was requested after high winds dislodged a tile that fell through a neighbour's roof. More tiles are seen slipping on the left-hand side. The wood around this loft-dormer is rotten. | |
| 2. The adjacent roof has lost tiles resulting in the weather entering the house. Other tiles are seen slipping, resulting in non-straight lines. | |
| 3. Access to the second-floor dormer required scaffolding in order to provide a safe working platform. | |
4.After removing the old roofing tiles, the timbers can be inspected. Extra costs may be involved if timbers need to be replaced. Notice the cracked timber against the chimney stack, which has been repaired earlier. |
5.A weatherproof felt is secured under the tiles, which also lets your roof space breath. Preventing moisture in the roof timbers helps reduce the chance of them becoming rotten. |
6.The finished dormer featuring a new uPVC double glazed window, with lower opener that doubles as a fire escape, and durable ornate surround. The new tiles around the dormer and on the adjacent roof will last many many year.
